The first connects.

They started in July: the World Cup final on a big screen in Hackney, then a blues set and a film on a rooftop in Stratford. Since launch: a film under the open sky at Coal Drops Yard, a market afternoon in Brixton, and an evening of spoken word on a floating stage at Canada Water. A handful of people each time, most of them strangers until they sat down.

The floating stage at Canada Water, seen from the crowd
Five met for Poetry meets Jazz on a floating stage, wandered the park after and went looking for bubble tea.

A kind stranger lent us her eclipse glasses to watch the moon chase the sun mid-connect.

Chai first, then the free outdoor screening at Coal Drops Yard.

A live blues set, then Sinners on a rooftop.
Rho, Igodo's founder

What if it were easy to meet new people, platonically, over the things you already love or want to try? Easy to grow your circle as an adult? That's what I'm building Igodo for. Curators put up the plans, the app finds the right people, and everyone stays connected after. Curate or join, it's free either way. Making new friends shouldn't be hard, and it shouldn't cost you.

The opposite of a feed.

Most social apps want your attention. Igodo wants you out the door. No feeds to perform for, no streaks, no swiping. Just real, curated plans and a few people chosen because you are likely to click.

A connect is a curated plan: a few people around something simple. A walk, a long lunch, a board game, a gallery. You see who is curating it, how it fits the way you like to spend time with people, and exactly enough to decide. Then you go.

That is the whole product. If it works, you need it less over time, because the people you meet become yours.

One minute in the app

People host plans across London, and Igodo helps you find the right ones, with people you're likely to click with. Join one that suits you, or host your own.

The Igodo home screen: a few connects sorted for you, with what is coming up
Home. A few connects, sorted for you. A chosen handful, not a feed to scroll.
A connect in Igodo: who is curating it, when and where, and how aligned it is with your style
A connect. Who is curating it, when and where, and how it fits your style. The exact address opens once you join.
A social style result in Igodo, Kindred, with what it means for you
Your social style. One of a handful, from a few questions about how you like to spend time with people.

The circle. Everyone in the connect, in one thread.

How it works.

You can join the connects others create, or bring people together yourself.

  1. Answer a few questions.

Not a test. Your answers place you among a handful of social styles, based on how you like to spend time with others. The connects and people you see are the ones that fit yours.

  2. Join or curate a connect.

A handful of people, a set time, a public place. The exact address opens once you are in.

  3. See them again.

If a connect was good, the people from it stay easy to find.

The house rules.

  • Show up.

If you say you are coming, be there, and tell the circle early if that changes.

  • Be open and kind.

Everyone is a stranger making the same leap, so make room for them.

  • Be someone they can see.

A photo that shows your face and an about line that says who you are.

  • Look after each other.

    Meet somewhere public.

We are more digitally connected than ever, yet more socially disconnected. Let's change that.
