Privacy Policy
Effective date: 5 July 2026. This policy covers the igodo.app website and the Igodo app.
Who we are
Igodo is a London-based service for meeting people through small, real-world gatherings we call connects. It is operated by Igodo Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17322510. For anything in this policy, write to privacy@igodo.app.
The short version
We collect what the service needs to work and to keep people safe, and nothing else. We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics. What we measure, we measure on our own infrastructure. Your exact whereabouts are never shown to anyone: a connect's full address opens only to people who have joined it.
What we collect
To register interest on the website. Your email address and which path you chose (curate, join, or either). We use it for exactly one thing: sending you one email when your invite is ready. No newsletter, no marketing list.
To create an account. Your email address, the name you choose to show (a first name is fine), a photo, your city, and your date of birth. The date of birth exists to confirm you are 18 or over; it is never shown to anyone. Other members see your name, photo, city, social style, and your age only when you ask to join someone's connect and they are deciding.
Your social style. Your answers to our short questionnaire and the scores and style derived from them, used to suggest connects likely to suit you.
What you do on Igodo. Connects you create or join, messages in your circles, attendance, the quiet rating you may leave after a connect, the people you confirm having met, and reports you make or that are made about you.
Measurement we keep. We record, on our own systems, things like when you joined, the alignment percentage you were shown when you decided to join a connect, and how gatherings turned out, so we can judge whether Igodo is doing its one job: helping people actually meet. None of this goes to advertising or analytics companies.
Technical basics. Standard server logs and the minimum device information needed to run the app securely.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not show ads. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers. We do not share your exact location: venue addresses are revealed only to a connect's members, and any distance shown is measured around you, not a disclosure of where you are.
AI features
When you use a feature that drafts suggestions (for example, ideas while creating a connect), the text you type into that feature is processed by our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the response. We send what the feature needs and nothing more.
Our providers
We use a small set of providers to run Igodo: Supabase (our database and authentication, hosted in London (AWS eu-west-2)), Vercel (the website), Anthropic (AI features as described above), Google (venue search when you look up a place), and an email delivery provider for the messages the service has to send (such as sign-in emails). Each processes data only to provide their service to us.
Legal bases
Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (running the service you signed up for); legitimate interests (keeping the community safe, preventing misuse, and first-party measurement of whether the service works); legal obligation (age eligibility and responding to lawful requests); and consent (the founding-interest email you asked for).
How long we keep things
Founding-interest emails are deleted once invitations are complete or on request. Account data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, keeping only what we must for safety records, legal obligations, or in anonymised form for the measurements described above.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. Write to privacy@igodo.app and we will respond within a month. A note on dates of birth: because they are an eligibility record, corrections go through a short human check rather than self-service editing. If something about how we handle your data worries you, tell us first at privacy@igodo.app and we will put it right where we can. You also have the right to raise a concern with the UK's data regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Age
Igodo is for adults: 18 and over. We do not knowingly hold an account for anyone under 18, and we remove any we find. If you believe someone under 18 is using Igodo, tell us at privacy@igodo.app.
Changes
If this policy changes in ways that matter, we will say so plainly on this page and, for significant changes, in the app.
